On the Lesbian circle, the upper point = butch Lesbians/ exertive womb Lesbians. The mid points = Lesbians in their mood between being butch and fem. The root point = the fem/nurturing womb lesbians. All Lesbians can flux around the circle of their side of the figure 8, feeling more butch some days, and more fem on others. Many Lesbians tend to feel comfortable being generally butch, many being fem, many being both. But all phases of the Lesbian, by the flow and law of the circle, are easily available to them.

On the Gay circle, the top point = the tops/masculine boys, the mid points = Gay boys feeling a bit top and a bit bottom/fem, and the root point = the fem, Queeny boys. The top point represents the Gay phallic men. The midpoints represent the versatile men who are both top/bottom, straight-acting/fem-queen. The root point represents the Queeny, bottom, testicular Gay men. By law and flow of the circle, all phases of Gay masculinity are easily accessible to Gay men. Many Gay men identify as being basically top, bottom, butch or fem, but a healthy and balanced Gay man can feel comfortable in any point of the circle. (Due to the pressures from the straight tribe of 1/2-Spirits, many Gay boys look down on their Queeny, fem brothers, which is another way of saying that they look down on their own inner queeny, testicular nature. I.e., they cut their balls off.)

There is another very interesting dynamic hiding in the lemniscate symbol. The two circles are not separate. They flow into each other, allowing access from one side to the other. This refers to the Drag Queen and Drag King power of the 2-Spirits. Some genitalia males and genitalia females seek to express their androgynous spiritual energy on a physical level. This is done by donning the appearance, mannerisms, and behaviors of their gender opposite. Drag Queens and Kings are those among the 2-Spirit tribe who refuse to allow us to forget that masculinity/femininity are ultimately not real, but masks upon our original, divine, androgynous, infinite nature. Masculinity and femininity are but the costumes that our androgynous nature wears for fun. Many human cultures, especially the narrow 1/2-Spirit culture, take gender far too seriously and obsessively. This is because gender division is key in their tribe so that the males can hunt, kill, defend and build for their children, and the females can birth, nurture, and raise their babies.

This symbol reveals some very interesting dynamics. The line is historically a male symbol, thus revealing that heterosexual culture is ultimately defined by heterosexual males. They write the rules and laws that run the heterosexual game. In this book, above the line represents the male half and the area below the line represents the female. Men belong on top, and women are pushed below and on the bottom. Men rule women, women support men, this is the rule of this tribe. The men must not cross below the line into the traits and energies of the woman, or his male, hetero tribesmen will punish him—physically, economically, socially, or verbally. The women must stay in their place, and not cross over into the “manly” world above, or she will be punished by the males of her tribe physically, economically, socially, politically, or verbally. The line is drawn as red, symbolizing the gender tension of this tribe, as well as the danger and bloodshed resulting from men and women who cross the line.

The bodies of 1/2-Sprit males and females are divided into a female side of the male, and a male side of the female, despite their aversion to this fact. The males,or yang predominants, have a phallic, macho side (the yang side of the yang), and a testicular, gentle, sensitive side (the yin side of the yang). The females, or yin predominants, have a nurturing womb, mothering side—the yin side of the yin, and an exertive womb, pushy side—the yang side of the yin. Since hetero males make the rules, they make the rules in their favor. As he is unable to integrate forces, he likes to keep the feminine and testicular as far away as possible. As a result, he elevates the nurturing mothering phase of his women, while discouraging the exertive, commanding side of his tribeswomen."
